岩手県の北部にある海側の街、野田村に集会場とテナントの複合施設をつくる計画である。2011年の東日本大震災で被害にあった敷地周辺は、海まで更地が続いている。街のシンボルである大鳥居の参道沿いに敷地が面しており、参道と反対の図書館をつなぐ道をつくりながら集会場を計画することが求められた。 まずは参道と図書館をつなぐ道に大屋根をかけ、残った場所に集会場を配置した。これにより津波被害で遮るもののなくなった“やませ”と呼ばれる偏東風を除け、雨のかからない外部空間ができる。断面はノコギリ型に二枚の屋根をかけることにより、建物で南側を遮られた軒下にも明るい場所を提供できるようにした。雨や風を除けながら陽の当たる外部空間は集会場やテナントと連続的に使われる。野田村は緯度の割に温暖で、外部イベントの盛んな街だ。イベント好きなこの街の人たちが安定した環境を持つ外部空間を積極的に利用してくれると嬉しい。
The complex facility for assembly hall and tenants are planned at NODA-MURA village, seaside town in IWATE Prefecture. Raw land continues to the sea in the surrounding areas damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake. The strong easterly wind called [YAMASE] blows from the sea and has disturbed external activities sometime. Outdoor events have been active in this area where it is moderate as its latitude. It was considered to provide local people the space under eaves in the light from south-east side while blocking out wind with buildings as shield. Roof shape will be reviewed by wind tunnel analysis to obtain stable external environment.
